Per-child overview
One screen per child showing current grade in every course, recent attendance, upcoming due dates, and any flags worth your attention.
Every item below is live in production. We pilot at El Camino Real Charter — you can demo the running system before signing anything.

Set a threshold per child (say, 75%). The moment any class drops below it, you get a message. Tunable per child, per class.
Live in production
Message any teacher of any of your children. They message back through the same channel. No more guessing email addresses.
Live in production
Self-service view of every record we hold on your child: courses, grades, attendance, accommodations, discipline, nurse visits, emergency contacts. Updated in real time.
Live in production
Download your child's full record at any time. Same data your school has. Use it for transferring schools, IEP meetings, or your own records.
Live in production
Every staff member who has accessed your child's records — when, what they viewed, from which IP. Your right under FERPA, made one click.
Live in production
Every AI feature that processed data about your child is logged with what it did and when. Ask 'what has the AI seen about my child?' and get an answer.

Mark an absence as excused with a reason. Your child's attendance record updates immediately; the teacher and counselor see the note.
We name what we have not built so you can plan against reality. If one of these is critical for your school, tell us — we prioritise by pilot-school request.

The architecture decisions that protect this role specifically, not the generic security copy.
The other parent — the co-parent who shouldn't have access according to a custody order — cannot see your child's record through your account, because the parent-child link is a database row your school admin maintains, not derived from your name or shared email.
When you ask "who has accessed my child's records," we can show you specifically — staff name, role, date, IP address, what they viewed. That same query shows denied attempts: if a counselor outside your child's caseload tried to view their file, that's in the log too.
When your child turns 18, FERPA rights transfer to them. Our access model respects that automatically — they get the same self-service portal you have today, you no longer do unless they re-grant access.
We never sell your child's data. We never use it for advertising. We hold the Student Privacy Pledge.
Nova is sold to schools, not directly to parents. If you'd like your child's school to have real parent transparency, please email us — we'd love an introduction to your principal or PTA chair.
